New Album and Shows, Shows, Shows!

Sorry for the radio silence, but we've been toiling on the final stages of the brand new Whiskey Daredevils CD "Introducing the Whiskey Daredevils". At last it is in production, and is expected to be available sometime next month (or whenever it gets here from Germany). With 13 tracks, it's sure to become your go-to CD of choice at all holiday gatherings. Well, at least the ones worth attending. You can check out the new single "Never Saw Johnny Cash" on our myspace page. (If we were on Sony or Warner Brothers, we would spend $500,000 on a video, and another $750,000 on payola to get it on radio. Then we would go out on tour with someone like Third Eye Blind as first on a four band bill and play to largely empty houses. After that we would owe Warner Brothers all the money they loaned us for the payola and we would get dropped and have to break up the band. Then Warner would sell our song to be on the Transformers IV soundtrack, and we would never get paid on it despite numerous lengthy lawsuits. That sure seems like a lot of trouble, so we'll just do it the way we do it, and maybe someone will have the good sense to add it onto radio playlists.)

I think you will all be very happy about this new disc. Mosh from Knock-Out said, "I just got the new disc and listened to it over and over again for five hours. It is fucking fantastic!!!". He's a big giant German guy that is never that enthusiastic about anything, so this comes as very high praise. Check out "Never Saw Johnny Cash" as a teaser...

We have added a bunch of new dates and will be returning to some places we are long overdue to visit again. This Saturday we'll be at our longtime buddy Frank's bar in Rochester PA. I don't know anything about Rochester or the bar itself, but Frank is good people so we're playing! The plan is to debut four absolutely brand new tunes, and play for a real long time. It should be a real throw down.

Other dates you should be aware of include two shows with Heavy Trash, the new Jon Spencer band. One of those is in long neglected Champaign IL, one of our all time favorite towns. Look for Leo to spend lots of money (for Leo) at Skins and Tins drum shop. Leo claims it is "the best fucking drum shop in the world", and I believe him. We'll also be going back to Ft Wayne at the Brass Rail, Cincinnati at the Southgate for Greasemas V, outside Nashville TN with Hillbilly Casino, and Lexington at Cosmic Charlie's.

The rumor you have heard about a one off Cowslingers show at the Beachland on December 30th is absolutely true. We figured it would be cool to play a show while Gary was away for the holidays, but now it turns out he'll be here. Maybe we can have the Daredevils open up for The Cowslingers now... Word from the Beachland is that advance ticket sales are already clicking along, so if you are serious about going, get your tickets now. Call the Beachland at 216-383-1124.

See all you crazy West Virginians on Halloween at the Empty Glass!!!

The boys rocked the house last night. It had been too long since I'd seen them play, and I was very impressed. They were on, tight, and played with the same enthusiasm they always play with. The pumpkins they came out wearing on their heads, was a great touch. Since I first saw the Cowslingers in 1994, til now, they have never failed to entertain. Great stuff guys, and don't be afraid to come back here very soon.

The show on Friday Nov 20th will be at The Backdoor Saloon in Greenhills OH. Greenhills is a northern suburb of Cincinnati and is located on Winton Road, look for the giant Johhny's Toys sign. The Backdoor is on the backside of the shopping center and boasts one of the finest selections of beer in the area. This is going to be a great night that you do not want to miss!
